The Crazy World of IRL Live Streaming

Streaming IRL, meaning In Real Life, became popular on the Video Game streaming site Twitch.Tv.
Twitch found its niche in the online video world by hosting live video game streams and E-Sports events, and in December 2016 added a category for IRL streaming.

The IRL scene is comprised of a few popular streamers with a cult-like following,
not yet at the level of YouTube vloggers like the Pauls, but it is still a growing scene.
The fans can donate money while watching live, sometmes hundreds of dollars or more just to support, or to suggest the next prank or interesting content.

The bad side to streaming

Swatting sometimes happens to the most popular streamers. Swatting is when a troll makes the police swarm the live-streamer's location.

Hence leaking an address or phone number is something the streamers always have to be careful about. Twitch has been known to ban streamers who were swatted after being too careless about their location.

The Drama and Violence

Recently some streamers have been criticized for instigating fights and drama for views

Interestingly most of the events from this video happened in L.A, and they were all friends of Ice Poseidon or following in his footsteps.

The last time Ice Poseidon was banned from Twitch for leaking a location and getting swatted, he simply started streaming on YouTube instead, and the fans followed. The former King of Twitch now earns over $5000 for sleeping on YouTube streams.
