YouTubers are Warned to not put their young fans at risk

Channels targeted towards young viewers have a lot of influence

Popular YouTubers have a huge influence on young fans and their world view, and have a responsibility to ensure the relationships are appropriate.

After a number of claims of inappropriate behaviour against YouTubers over the years, the NSPCC has made a list of precautions to help provide online safety for kids online.

Tips for staying safe online

  • Be careful with accepting friend requests from people you don’t know in real life.
  • Keep personal information private and don't share it with people online.
  • Keep friends, parents or teachers informed about what you’re doing and who you are speaking to online.
