Popular YouTubers have a huge influence on young fans and their world view, and have a responsibility to ensure the relationships are appropriate.
After a number of claims of inappropriate behaviour against YouTubers over the years, the NSPCC has made a list of precautions to help provide online safety for kids online.
Tips for staying safe online
- Be careful with accepting friend requests from people you don’t know in real life.
- Keep personal information private and don't share it with people online.
- Keep friends, parents or teachers informed about what you’re doing and who you are speaking to online.
