Google+ Splits off from YouTube

Has Google+ been dying a slow death?
Over the recent years Google has tried to brute-force the growth of its social network Google+ by making profiles for anyone using YouTube, and making G+ the main hub for your digital pictures and videos.
In the coming weeks YouTube is going back to being a standalone part of Google.
"YouTube will no longer require a Google+ profile when you want to upload, comment, or create a channel. If you’re happy with everything as it is now, then just keep on keepin’ on. If you want to remove your Google+ profile, you’ll be able to do this in the coming months, but do not do it nowor you’ll delete your YouTube channel (no bueno)." - Official YouTube Blog.
The Google+ photo menu has been moved to photos.google.com, but I noticed that many photos were without their album/folders there; I still have to orgnize folders and image rights on Picasaweb.google.com which seems to be the current best place to organize. I'm unsure where Google photos will finally end up.
