Wonders of Ancient Engineering #Infographic

The pioneers of our ancient past left behind fantastic examples of engineering that are ingenious and complex. The construction of the Pyramid of Giza took 20 years to build. The Antikythera Mechanism served as a Grecian tool to map the Solar System. Measuring at 10,000 feet long, The Great Wall of China serves as a reminder of ancient defense. Had Phidias' sculpture of Zues not been destroyed, we would see it today standing tall 40 feet. In the Philippines, there's 4,000 square miles of extraordinary hand-made terraces along a mountainside.

While people marvel at these beautiful creations, there were important ideas behind the structures. Egypt's Pyramid's housed beautiful tombs and Greece devised a way of studying space that scientists still can't decode. The Great wall was built for China's ancient battles and the Banaue Rice Terraces are a reminder of a long forgotten irrigation system of the Philippines.
