Reportedly costing a cool $27.2 million, the Sultan roped in none other than Michael Jackson to perform live, while his guests tucked into champagne and caviar. Well, you wouldn’t expect anything less from the world’s richest man, would you?

The eyes of the world were on Wills and Kate when they tied the knot last year - and they certainly didn’t disappoint in the glamour stakes. But all that regal style doesn’t come cheap you know. Never one to mince his words, Sean ‘P Diddy’ Coombs proudly declared his own birthday bash the “party of the century.” Of course, with a bankroll of his size he was never going to be short of 40th birthday ideas, and he certainly did it in style taking over the Grand Ballroom of New York’s famed Grand Plaza Hotel. Never one to miss a business opportunity either, the hip-hop star-turned-entrepreneur’s own vodka company sponsored the party.
