Google+ - My thoughts after a few days

Was invited to Google+ by someone and I've been checking it out for a couple days.
This is the Social Network platform we've heard rumors about, the one we thought was going to be called Google Me or Google Circles. Google+ is the official thing.

Once you join, your Google Profile will become your new Google+ profile. It retains all the tabs that have recently been added to the Profiles project (Images, Buzz, +1, and so forth.), with a new tab for video, and links to your circles of friends/acquaintances underneath your picture. The Circles link can also be found at the top of the page where there are four new buttons - Your Home Stream, Picture stream, Link to profile and link to Circles. More about Circles later.

Google+ has been described as "Facebook Lite", and I almost agree, it has all the basic stuff of a social network site, plus some cool Google features (and there are obviously more coming). The Stream page (your homepage) is full of updates ('wall posts') from those you've added to your circles. And the Photo stream is full of their recent pictures (and other media?). You can sort them out by acquaintances, friends and family, or custom circles.

"Hanging Out" is a Google+ term for chatting with people in your circles. You can easily create group chats with webcams and voice, and it uses the Youtube engine so we get to play with features like creating live playlists and sharing videos/commentary. =D
